Teeth Care Tips



1: The first step towards taking care of the teeth is learnt from your home itself. The recommended method is brushing twice a day and flossing at least once in a day.

2:   Brushing and flossing are important aspects, which keeps the teeth healthy. Brushing can also stimulate the gums, which keep them healthy thereby preventing gum diseases. It, furthermore, removes plaque and thin films of bacteria, which are major factors for tooth decay.


3:   Choosing toothpaste and an appropriate toothbrush are key factors for maintaining good hygiene levels of the teeth. Most of us blindly follow the advertisements when it comes to selecting our toothpastes and toothbrush. An intelligent being will understand the differences and proceed accordingly.

4:   It is important to use toothpaste, which contains fluoride; it will strengthen and protect the teeth thereby preventing it from tooth decay.


5:   There are many types of toothpaste, which specializes in areas like sensitivity, tartar control, and whitening. However, these specialized toothpastes are meant to be used after consulting a dentist.

6:    Choose toothbrushes, which are small to medium sized. Ensure that the bristle of the toothbrush is manufactured using quality materials (nylon fits the bill). Nevertheless, it is highly recommended to change the toothbrush every two to three months. At times, if you notice that the bristles have started depleting then it is advisable to change it immediately.


7:   Apart from these basic steps, a well balanced diet is required to ensure proper care to teeth and gums. High intake of sugary items can cause dental problems.

8:   Food and drinks laden with such substances can cause discoloration to the teeth. They can create cavity issues, likewise. If you are addicted to these consumables then you must brush your teeth regularly after every intake. Regular meetings your dentist can detect problems at the early stage.
